The Kochbrunnenplatz

Taunusstrasse borders Kochbrunnenplatz on its northern side, while the remains of the Kochbrunnen colonnade can be found on Saalgasse to the west. The architect Wilhelm Bogler built this in 1887/88 and filled the entire square with a Z-shaped ground plan. The colonnade was put back into use after the war in 1949, but was then demolished in the 1960s - only the wing on Saalgasse remained standing. However, its historical charm was destroyed by a glass porch in the 1990s.

The Kochbrunnen temple used to stand at the southern end of the colonnade, but was moved and renovated in 1976/77; the thermal water still flows there. 880 liters of thermal water per minute reach the surface at a temperature of 68.75 degrees Celsius.
