Dr. Salvatore Rebecchini

On 28 May 1951, Dr. Salvatore Rebecchini, the Lord Mayor of Rome, signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.

During his visit to the Hessian state capital, the Lord Mayor of Rome, Dr. Salvatore Rebecchini, was received by his Wiesbaden counterpart in the town hall.

In a speech, Redlhammer pointed out historical parallels between the two cities: although Rome's important role in antiquity is undisputed, Wiesbaden can also look back on a history dating back to antiquity as a health resort for Roman officers. After the regrettable events of the recent past, however, both cities had proven that a democratic reconstruction was possible after overcoming a totalitarian regime.

Dr. Rebecchini expressed his thanks for the kind words and expressed his hope for an intensive political, cultural and social exchange in the future. He then signed the city's Golden Book.
