Parents' Council
Are you a parent and would like to have a say in how the school is run? Then get involved in a parents' council. You can find all the information here.
There are parents' councils at every school(school parents' councils) as well as at city level(city parents' council) or state level(state parents' council). They represent the interests of parents. In the parents' council, you can help shape and initiate changes.
Parents' right of co-determination is guaranteed by the Hessian constitution. The school parents' council exercises this right of co-determination at the school. Some very important decisions made by school committees require the approval of the school parents' council. The advisory board also has the right to be heard, information and initiative and can therefore provide new impetus at the school.
Representatives of the individual school parents' councils come together in the city parents' council. It represents all types of schools according to their proportion of pupils in the city. The parents' councilis involved in political committees and decisions. In this way, parents can draw the attention of politicians directly to burning school issues.
