Urn graves
The cremated remains can be buried in the ground, in an urn grave or an earth grave, or above ground in an urn chamber or a columbarium.
In the following, we differentiate between the types of burial, which are based on the available space or the layout of the respective Wiesbaden cemetery.
Urn grave
The urn grave is a type of grave that can be used both as a single grave and as a family grave. Depending on availability, these burial plots can be purchased and freely selected in predetermined areas and also during your lifetime. One advantage of this type of grave is that the right of use can always be extended after expiry - for example, if these elective graves are to be used as family graves. The right of use here is 20 years in accordance with the resting period for urns. It is possible to bury up to 6 urns.
Special features
Burials of stillborn babies and children under 1 year of age can also be buried in an urn grave, provided the coffin does not exceed a specified size. It is also possible to bury the remains of the deceased in a casket. In both cases, it should be noted that the number of urns to be interred is reduced by half.
Overview:

The urn row grave is also allocated by the cemetery administration in turn. There is therefore no possibility of influencing the exact location. After the resting period has expired, urn graves cannot be extended, which is why they are not suitable for family graves.
Up to two urns can be placed in a row of urns. However, two urns can only be buried at the same time, as the right of use will be exceeded if they are buried later.
Overview:
- Right of use 20 years
- Costs: 844,00 €
- No extension of the right of use possible
- No grave purchase possible during lifetime

Anonymous grave (urn row grave)
Anonymous urn graves
Burial is anonymous on a lawn. Relatives are excluded from the burial. There is no indication of the name and no individual design is possible! Flowers can only be laid in a specially created central deposit area. The right of use here is 20 years in accordance with the resting period for urns, care is included.
The decision for an anonymous burial is often made during one's lifetime. The reasoning behind this is that the bereaved should have as little work as possible. Please bear in mind, however, that this also means that your loved ones have no fixed place to remember you, lay flowers and mourn.
