Culture in the park - a place for everyone

Around the Schlachthof, "Kultur im Park" invites you to numerous, admission-free events and creates spaces to linger, meet and exchange ideas.

The brick tower of the slaughterhouse can be seen against a blue sky.

The Kulturpark is located around the Schlachthof cultural center. With green spaces and barbecue areas, sports equipment and obstacles, it attracts many people of different ages and nationalities. They come together here, meet and exchange ideas. This large open space is located close to the city center - with a high quality of stay, high experience value and supra-regional role model function.

events

Up to 80 admission-free events take place in the Kulturpark, some larger, some smaller. These include the "German Open - International German Championship in Kettcar Driving", the "International Carousel Festival" and "Sounds in the Sun".

Sporting offers

The Kulturpark offers a range of sports activities such as volleyball, basketball, skating, calisthenics, boules and pump track. Seating areas, meadows and spray walls offer further opportunities to linger.

Project for peaceful coexistence

The "Culture in the Park" (KiP) project has been running since 2012. The aim is to peacefully and culturally revitalize the area around the slaughterhouse - this is also part of the "Kulturpark und Schlachthofgelände" security concept of the state capital of Wiesbaden.

The team is on site every day during the season from April to the end of October. The aim is to make long-time visitors feel at home in the Kulturpark and to attract new guests to the site. The team creates an awareness of responsible coexistence and strengthens identification with the park.

The Wiesbaden Office for Social Work finances "Culture in the Park" and the Schlachthof Cultural Center is responsible for its implementation.
