Children's film festival "Klappe 7"
Once a year, children show their self-produced films on the Caligari Film Stage. The best works are awarded prizes by a jury of experts and the audience.
Since 2007, the municipal children's, youth and district centers as well as the "Supervising Primary Schools" department have been organizing the children's film festival "Klappe 7".
Short films, documentaries and animated films are presented. The films have all been produced by children between the ages of 6 and 12. They are individual works as well as group works by up to ten participants. The maximum film length is five minutes. A jury awards prizes one to three, and there is also an audience award.
"Klappe 7" is a good platform for children to present their own productions to a large cinema audience and an expert jury. The participating institutions offer children the opportunity to engage creatively with the subject of film. By making films themselves, the boys and girls gain an insight into how films are produced.
The children learn various methods for developing a script, handling the camera and editing a film. When filming, the children can simply experiment and try things out. The films become an expression of their own ideas.
Save the date: "Klappe 7" will take place on Saturday, November 22.
