Recognition counseling
The Recognition Advisory Service for Qualifications Acquired Abroad of the State Capital of Wiesbaden is the first point of contact for immigrants with qualifications acquired abroad.
In the current funding period since 2023, recognition counselling is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the European Social Fund as part of the "IQ - Integration through Qualification" funding programme. The Wiesbaden Employment Agency is the implementation partner.
The "Integration through Qualification (IQ)" funding program aims to sustainably improve the labour market integration of adults with a migration background. Since the end of 2010, the state capital of Wiesbaden has been offering advice for immigrant skilled workers who have acquired their professional or academic qualifications abroad and would like to use them here.
People with foreign qualifications from Wiesbaden and the Rheingau-Taunus district can make appointments with three advisors. Together with the customers, they analyze the individual situation, provide information about the responsible authorities, the recognition procedure, required documents, costs and necessary further steps. They provide information on qualifications as part of the recognition process, funding options and support in developing professional alternatives, for example in the event of a negative prognosis, partial equivalence decisions or rejections. Those seeking advice are accompanied and supported throughout the entire process.
