Mushroom excursions and advice
In fall 2025, the Environmental Agency is once again offering educational hikes, an identification course and mushroom advice in the Umweltladen with expert Franz Heller.
There are special dates for the educational hikes in fall 2025 for adults and children. These can be booked online or on site at the tourist information office.
The three-day mushroom identification course can be booked at the Umweltladen. Mushroom advice is also available from September to November at the Umweltladen.
Mushroom excursions
From the beginning of September to the beginning of November, edible and poisonous mushrooms are presented in guided, 4-hour forest walks. No previous knowledge is required to take part.
The guided tours take place in Wiesbaden Dotzheim, Weilburger Tal, from 10 am to 2 pm. The starting point is easy to reach by public transport. The number of participants is limited to 15.

Mushroom identification course
If you would like to learn more about collecting and identifying mushrooms, you can take part in a three-day mushroom identification course. The aim is to be able to reliably identify ten to 15 species of mushrooms from different genera and recognize particularly poisonous species.
Fee
120 euros
Interested parties can book the identification course at the Umweltladen.
The number of participants is limited.

Free individual consultations on mushroom identification take place at the Umweltladen. On these dates, collected mushrooms can be identified by the mushroom expert Franz Heller.
