Kilometers as currency. The DB Rad+ program in Wiesbaden.

What if you could not only change the world a bit by cycling, but also buy yourself a coffee? Try it out for yourself.

A young man in casual clothes with a rucksack stands by a bicycle and looks at his smartphone. An advertising poster promoting the bike program in Wiesbaden can be seen in the background.
DB Rad+ program in Wiesbaden - pay with kilometers.

Now it's even more worthwhile to get your bike out of the cellar. In cooperation with Deutsche Bahn, the city of Wiesbaden is providing an app that can be used to collect your own bike kilometers. Selected partners who are committed to cycling in Wiesbaden will then give you a small thank-you in exchange for kilometers. For example, two apples for 15 kilometers or admission to the Wiesbaden Museum for 60 kilometers.

All kilometers cycled go into a large pot. And whenever a certain kilometer mark is reached, the city works with partners to implement something for the cycling community. For example, when 450,000 kilometers were reached, there was a free bike wash day on the Dern'schen grounds. For reaching the 7th milestone at one million kilometers, a cargo bike was procured, which is available free of charge to anyone interested.

The download link for the app and all information about the rewards and milestones can be found at "radplus.bahnhof" on the Deutsche Bahn website.
