"Moving into spring" - Easter market with mobility festival for the first time

The Wiesbaden Easter Market will take place in the city center from Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17. In the pedestrian zone, there will once again be arts and crafts, culinary delights and lots of entertainment - as well as a mobility festival for the first time.

"60 stalls, music on Mauritiusplatz, lots of activities for the youngest guests and an open Sunday with free public transport at the 22nd Wiesbaden Easter Market will attract visitors to the pedestrian zone," explains Wiesbaden's Mayor and Head of Economic Affairs Christiane Hinninger at the presentation of the program. "In addition to numerous attractions, we are presenting a mobility festival for the first time under the motto 'Moving into spring'. On the weekend of March 16 and 17, Schlossplatz will be transformed into a stage for climate-friendly and healthy transportation."

Local bicycle dealers will present their wide range of different bikes and non-motorized means of transport. The latest e-scooters for private use will also be on show. The "Wurzelwerk" bike school offers safety training for cycling. Interested parties can also learn important tips and tricks on how to get their bike in shape for the cycling season.

Every year, the Easter market attracts a large number of visitors from Wiesbaden as well as guests from the neighboring region. This is particularly evident on Sundays when the stores in the historic pentagon are open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the support of the "Wiesbaden wunderbar" advertising association.

"This revitalization of the city centre is important for local retailers, who can present and sell their products to a large audience," says Hinninger. "To make it possible to travel to the market in a climate-friendly way, we are financing the free use of buses and trains in the Wiesbaden city area on March 17."

This year, the Easter market starts on Friday, 15 March, and offers a varied program for the whole family in the pedestrian zone - from Rheinstraße to Marktstraße - up to and including Sunday.

There will be arts and crafts, Easter accessories, delicatessen, leather goods and jewelry. Three children's carousels, painting, craft and make-up activities are the colorful program for the younger guests. The highlight for them on Sunday will be the performances by "Günter Kastenfrosch" and the "Little Tiger" by artist Janosch on Schlossplatz.

ESWE-Versorgung's energy advice mobile will be on hand to provide information on the latest energy trends.

Ten food stalls, including international specialties, and two wine stands round off the varied offerings.

On Sunday, guests with a penchant for sewing will find what they are looking for at the large fabric market on the Dern'schen grounds: From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., everything that makes the hearts of sewing and tailoring enthusiasts beat faster will be on offer here.

Well-known and popular entertainers will be back on the stage at Mauritiusplatz, where Rick Cheyenne (Friday, March 15, 1.30 to 4.30 pm) and Andre Coluccelli (Saturday, March 16, 10 am to 1 pm) will be performing. The music program on all three days of the Easter market is varied and ranges from pop and rock to cover songs.

"We are delighted to welcome 19 new stand operators this year, offering arts and crafts and delicacies," says Simon Rottloff, authorized signatory at Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH (WICM), which organizes the Easter market. The diverse and varied program "makes the Easter market an attractive visitor magnet for the whole family", says the event director. Traditionally, walk acts and stilt walkers can be admired at the Easter market, and the "Easter bunnies" are not missing either, handing out sweet treats to the strolling guests.
