Company history of WICM GmbH and TriWiCon
The spa operations of the state capital of Wiesbaden, which have been active since the 1950s and once included spa clinics and thermal and swimming pools, were dissolved on January 1, 2009 and integrated into the newly founded trade fair, congress and tourism holding company TriWiCon, a subsidiary and in-house operation of the state capital of Wiesbaden.
Wiesbaden Marketing GmbH and Kurhaus Wiesbaden GmbH were also founded on January 1, 2009. Previously, the activities of the new GmbHs were carried out by Wiesbaden Marketing, a city-run company, and the Kurbetriebe.
TriWiCon was given a new task structure. The operational parts of the company were spun off into Kurhaus Wiesbaden GmbH and Wiesbaden Marketing GmbH. TriWiCon was given a holding function for these two companies as well as for the existing Rhein-Main-Hallen GmbH and took on higher-level tasks such as accounting, purchasing, IT, facility management and HR matters.
Rhein-Main-Hallen GmbH and Kurhaus Wiesbaden GmbH were merged with Wiesbaden Marketing GmbH on January 1, 2019. The new company was renamed Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH (WICM GmbH) . The merger of three companies into one contributes to the streamlining of the city group and enables more efficient work through the elimination of duplicate structures and the use of synergies.
TriWiCon will continue to take on the general tasks for the WICM company and also has the ownership function for the RheinMain CongressCenter, the Kurhaus Wiesbaden and the Jagdschloss Platte. The operational event business in the venues is managed by WICM GmbH. Further operational tasks in city and tourism marketing as well as in the event business are carried out by WICM GmbH, which is wholly owned by the state capital of Wiesbaden through its own company TriWiCon.
