Your job? More than just pipes!

As an environmental technologist for pipeline networks and industrial plants, you are the professional for Wiesbaden's approximately 800 km long pipeline and sewer system. These are high-tech systems that need to be cleaned and maintained regularly in order to function in the long term.

And don't worry: contact with dirty water is mainly with modern special vehicles and machines, which you operate and which ensure that you don't have to climb into the sewer yourself - and if you do get hit, your highly functional protective clothing will protect you.

But the best thing is that you will be working all over the city every day and during your training you will already be working in the sewer operations and sewage treatment plants of the waste management company of the state capital of Wiesbaden (ELW), which are among the most modern in Europe.

Your tasks? Keep an eye on all channels!

  • You check and monitor the condition of sewer pipes and systems and record any damage and contamination.
  • You will clean and maintain wastewater pipes, pipelines and sewer systems.
  • You will remove blockages, deposits and sewer damage.
  • You will work with state-of-the-art technology and special vehicles (e.g. remote-controlled video cameras, high-pressure cleaning and suction vehicles)
  • You go into the depths yourself and are equipped with appropriate protective clothing.

Your training? Profound!

And you? Let it flow!
