Inheritances
Everyone is free to leave some or all of their personal assets to the state capital of Wiesbaden after their death. This must be written down in a will. Especially for those who no longer have any family members or relatives, this is an opportunity to make provisions for their last wishes.
It is generally advisable to seek legal advice before drawing up a will. In this way, it can be ensured that the intended will is formulated in a legally sound manner and misunderstandings can be avoided at a later date. This applies regardless of who is to be remembered in the will.
In the event that the state capital of Wiesbaden is remembered in a will, the City Treasurer's Office ensures that the testator's last wishes are carried out as well as possible in accordance with his or her wishes.
Of course, it is also part of the city's ethical obligation to ensure that the grave is properly cared for, even if this is not explicitly stated in the will.
The last will does not necessarily have to specify a concrete use for the assets left to the city. However, it is usually the case that there is one thing that is particularly close to your heart.
For example, a generous inheritance since the 1970s has enabled the city to ensure that people who are blind or at risk of blindness can be helped quickly.
