Installations for handling substances hazardous to water must be notified to the water authority in accordance with Section 47 HWG and, depending on their nature, may be subject to a suitability assessment in accordance with Section 19 WHG. The lower water authority advises on the application and checks the notification documents and the suitability assessment application for compliance with water law requirements.
