Alternative practitioner examination

Anyone wishing to practise medicine without being a doctor requires a Heilpraktiker license. This is why the formal name of the license you require as a non-medical practitioner is: "Permission to practice medicine professionally without a license".

The practice of medicine is practiced when you professionally or commercially diagnose, heal or alleviate illnesses and physical injuries in people. This also applies if you do this in the service of others, e.g. as an employee.

If you have completed courses of study or training abroad in areas such as osteopathy, chiropractic or physiotherapy, please contact the public health department to check the recognition of your certificate and professional qualifications before contacting the regulatory authority.

The public order office is responsible for registering for the alternative practitioner examination: ordnungs-und-gewerbebehoerdewiesbadende

The public health department is responsible for the organization and processing of the written and oral examination. Contact under 0611 312820 or gesundheitsamt-hpwiesbadende
