The environmental scouts are on the road again
Second round of the "Stay clean!" prevention campaign
After a successful first round in autumn 2024, the Wiesbaden environmental scouts are back: from April 5, 2025, they will be out and about in the city center on Friday and Saturday evenings again - the second round of the "Stay clean!" campaign starts just in time for the Easter market.
Their mission: to raise awareness of cleanliness in public spaces, inform people about correct waste disposal and motivate them to take more personal responsibility - in a friendly and low-threshold manner instead of pointing fingers.
"Careless littering is also a growing problem in Wiesbaden," says Christiane Hinninger, Mayor and Head of the Environment Department. "Our environmental scouts focus on prevention through education. The project is an important building block for a clean city."
In terms of content, the focus in the second round with the environmental scouts is on take-away packaging, drinks cups, chewing gum and paper waste. A new feature is a short survey on the subjective perception of cleanliness in the Historic Pentagon: how clean do people think their city center is - and what needs to change?
"We want to start a conversation with people - about the impact of waste on the environment and the cityscape," explains Christiane Hinninger. "Our goal: more awareness, less waste."
