The cemetery, which was established in 1836 to the south above the village, was later extended again and again, which means that the original character of the site is no longer recognizable. As a result, only a few individual objects on the site and, of course, the burial place of the Counts of Hatzfeldt-Wildenburg are still of significance today. The cemetery cross made of red sandstone and cast iron, which was erected in the 1850s, is a clear indication of the formerly purely Catholic dedication.

Not far from it is the memorial to the fallen of the First World War, a small antique-style grave monument, also made of red sandstone. A particularly atmospheric area in the older part of the cemetery is indeed the burial place of the Counts of Hatzfeldt-Wildenburg, which is flanked by large yew trees and trees of life, visible from afar. Sophie Countess von Hatzfeldt-Wildenburg-Schönstein, a prominent socialist and companion of Ferdinand Lasalle, is buried here.

The following types of grave are possible at Frauenstein cemetery:

- Burial in the ground

- Burial plot for children

- Burial vault

- Burial in a row
