"Europe cannot be taken for granted, but must be worked for and fought for by us citizens every day."

I am a fully qualified lawyer and have been working in staff and management roles at various levels of public administration for over 20 years. Most recently, I have been project manager for the establishment of the new Europe and Funding Management Unit since June 2021.

During my studies, I worked as a parliamentary assistant to a Member of the European Parliament and realized that the idea of European unification and the practice of the European Union are not opposites, but convergences. For me, meaningful work is extremely important, hence my motto: working for a cause I can believe in. European unification is a matter close to my heart and I am happy to stand up for it.

"Europe offers young people the opportunity to study at universities and colleges in all member states through the Erasmus program. Experiences abroad not only broaden personal horizons, they also create enriching experiences and international friendships and thus contribute to better mutual understanding."

Most recently, I was in charge of international relations and town twinning in the Protocol Department and have now been responsible for funding projects and European networks in the European Department since November 2023.

I believe that multilateral cooperation in Europe is right and important, both economically and on a personal level. We should think outside the box, break down prejudices against our European neighbors and see what we can learn from each other.

"For me personally, Europe means above all freedom, diversity and joie de vivre. The opportunity to travel to other regions at any time without bureaucratic hassle and to get to know and experience people and cultures."

I have a degree in public administration and have been working for the state capital of Wiesbaden since 1981.

As an administrative officer, I had the opportunity to get to know and help shape a wide variety of administrative areas of the city administration, including over ten years in the area of municipal international relations and town twinning.

Since July 2022, I have been working in Christian Hepp's team to set up the new Europe and Funding Management department. I am very happy to have the opportunity to contribute my ideas and experience, to be involved in shaping this area and to make Europe a positive experience for the people in our city.
