The European long-distance hiking trail, the Rheinhöhenweg with its 500 kilometers of trails on the left and right bank of the Rhine or the "Rhine Mini Tour", which leads from Rüdesheim am Rhein to Assmannshausen, offer great opportunities to explore the region. There are virtually no limits to the urge to discover.

Other recommended tours in the region include the Johannisberg Wine Trail and the Johannisberg Mill Hike, the Rheingau Cycle Trail from Kaub to Flörsheim am Main, the Rheingau Gebück from Walluf to Lorchhausen, the Flute Trail and the Mill Trail in the Walluftal valley.

The Rheinsteig offers impressive nature experiences. Shady mountain valleys, quiet forests, rugged rocky outcrops and winding vineyards - the constantly changing views will amaze you. Central European cultural history, Rhine romance and landscapes steeped in history are gathered here in the smallest of spaces. The Upper Middle Rhine Valley alone, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002, is home to 40 castles, palaces and fortresses. The 320-kilometre premium hiking trail on the right bank of the Rhine between Wiesbaden and Bonn leads from the Siebengebirge mountains via the Middle Rhine Valley to the Rheingau. The route includes sporting challenges for experienced hikers as well as viewpoints with a special experience value.
