Grants awarded for the promotion of music concepts and young talent

Since 2021, there has been concept funding and support for young talent in the area of music. The aim of concept funding is to strengthen the music scene and support projects that are more long-term in nature and cannot be covered by general project funding. The promotion of young talent is intended to facilitate the (re-)entry into musical professional life and support initial projects.

The five-member jury consisted of Franziska Domes (Cultural Office Wiesbaden, Head of Department

District Culture - Performing Arts - Music - Artistry), Tilmann Höhn (freelance guitarist, composer, producer), Cornelius Koog (Kreativfabrik Wiesbaden e. V., program planning), Maximilian Nickel (Wiesbadener Musikakademie) and Mareike Wütscher (Landesmusikakademie Hessen, Managing Director). They each proposed one application for funding from ten applications for conceptual funding and three applications for the promotion of young talent.

Linus Koenig & Jorin Schemel, also known as Buffalo and Jorinho95, will receive a grant of 5,000 euros for the promotion of young talent. The two young, up-and-coming artists from Wiesbaden want to open up a new artistic level with the production of a joint EP. The EP is intended to give an insight into the lives of young people in the city and encourage dialog between generations.

Juan David Bermudez will receive 10,000 euros for his project entitled "Tres Bosques (Three Forests)". It aims to acoustically preserve three forest areas in Wiesbaden through audio recordings and acoustic measurements. The soundscapes of these areas will be recorded, stored, documented and preserved; they will also be presented as a sound art installation.
