Committees meet
In the coming week, several committees of the city council will meet in public session. More information on the meetings can also be found at piwi.wiesbaden.de.
The Committee for Women, Equality and Safety will meet on Tuesday, March 18, from 5 p.m. at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, in the City Council meeting room. The meeting will cover topics including "Homeless women", "Presentation of the German Society for Trans* and Inter*gender Issues - dgti e.V.", "Status report on retractable bollards", "Proportion of women on political committees" and "Rescue service school - status and further procedure".
The Committee for the Environment, Climate and Energy will meet on Tuesday, March 18, from 5 p.m. at the town hall, Schlossplatz 6, in room 22. Topics of the meeting will include "Containment of the raccoon population", "Fewer pigeons through more pigeon lofts", "Present aircraft noise report Airfield Erbenheim", "Municipal biodiversity strategy" and "Climate budget 2021-2024".
The 3rd meeting of the Audit Committee will take place on Wednesday, March 19, from 5 p.m. at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, in room 318 on the third floor. Topics on the agenda include "Events at Wivertis - transparency and swift action required", "Application for the establishment of a file inspection committee on Wivertis", "Role of the Supervisory Board at Wivertis GmbH" and "SEG management appointment procedure".
The meeting of the Committee for Social Affairs, Integration, Housing, Children and Family will begin on Wednesday, March 19, at 4 p.m. in the Town Hall, Schlossplatz 6, Room 22. First, the annual meeting 2025 with the Inclusion and Accessibility Working Group of the state capital Wiesbaden will take place. Topics include "Cooperation with Inclusion Officer Andrea Hausy", "Cooperation with ESWE Verkehr", "New City of Wiesbaden website" and "Culture". The regular meeting of the committee begins at 5 p.m., also in room 22. At the meeting, the committee members will deal with topics including "Wiesbaden International 2024 - status and prospects", "Stocktaking - one year of the boys' advice center" and "Pocket money for young people in care facilities". There will also be a report on current developments in the social, integration and housing sectors.
The Committee for Mobility will meet on Thursday, March 20, at 5 p.m. in the Town Hall, Schlossplatz 6, Room 22. The agenda includes the topics "Construction site planning", "Information for local councils/districts on construction sites", "Barrier-free expansion of Wiesbaden bus stops", "Enabling turning at the Landeshaus - speeding up and reducing congestion for all modes of transport" and "Status report on the turning lane at the Landeshaus and Biebricher Allee".
The meeting of the Committee for Schools, Culture and Town Twinning is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 5 p.m., at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, Room 301. Topics on the agenda include the "Erich-Kästner-Schule location", "Staffing situation in school secretariats", "Sustainability in the cultural sector", "Planned town twinning with Carey (USA)" and "Status report on town twinning in the USA".
The Committee for Volunteering, Civic Participation and Sport will meet on Thursday, March 20, from 5 p.m. at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, in room 318 on the third floor. The meeting will cover topics including "Presentation of the Hesse Consumer Advice Center", "Continuing Democracy Days in Wiesbaden - concept for a regular democracy project in Wiesbaden", "Presentation of the 'Padel x Wiesbaden' project", "Schläferskopf mountain bike trail" and "Schiersteiner Brücke sports area, cycle path and access to Rettbergsaue".
