The Youth Work Department offers leisure, cultural and educational activities for children and young people. Its aim is to stand up for all children and young people and their interests and to enable everyone to participate in its activities. The youth work department offers gender-specific services for girls and boys and goes wherever the young people are with its mobile youth work.

The department is divided into the following five areas:

• the district-oriented open youth work in the seven municipal children's, youth and district centers and the youth information center;
• the "Schöne Ferien" vacation program for children and young people, with "Schöne Ferien vor Ort", "Sommerwiese" and "Kultur im Park";
• the municipal youth education center, with cultural education, international youth work, the "Participation" service center and media education programs;
• financial support for independent providers of open child and youth work and youth association work;
• the specialist department for corporate cooperation with "Wiesbaden Engagiert!".
