By enacting the Freedom of Information Statute, interested citizens are entitled to access existing information and decisions in the Wiesbaden city administration. Access is only possible if this information is not subject to an exclusion under the Hessian Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act (HDSIG).
The right to information creates transparency and increases the accountability of administration and politics towards citizens.
Costs for a request under the Freedom of Information Statute
For requests based on the Freedom of Information Statute, costs are charged in accordance with the administrative cost statutes of the State Capital of Wiesbaden.
The main provisions are as follows:
Oral information, simple written information and on-site inspection of files and records are free of charge. A fee of between 10 and 500 euros may be charged for more complex written information. A fee of 0.20 euros per page may be charged for the production of copies up to DIN A3. Higher costs may be incurred for the reproduction of plans or maps.
The fees are also calculated taking into account the administrative costs so that the applicant is not deterred from asserting their information claims.
