WI-Box

Applications for ID cards and passports, civil status certificates or other documents and lost property can be collected from the WI-Box outside the opening hours of the authorities. The WI-Box is a pick-up station of the Wiesbaden Public Order Office and works in a similar way to pick-up stations of delivery services.

For example, if you apply for an ID card, you can specify the WI-Box as the pick-up location instead of picking it up on site during opening hours. You must enter a PIN for secure collection. As soon as the ID card is ready for collection in the WI-Box, you will receive an e-mail with a barcode. To access your ID card, you can either scan the barcode on the WI-Box or enter the six-digit code below it manually. You must then enter your PIN for identification. This two-factor authentication ensures a high level of security, which is required for collecting ID cards and passports. The PIN is not required for the collection of documents, civil status certificates and lost property.

Your items to be collected will be available for you in the WI-Box for 7 days.

The WI-Box is available at two locations. The first WI-Box is located in the city center in front of the Citizens' Office. Another WI-Box is located at the Kastel/Kostheim local administration office.

You can watch the explanatory video (opens in a new tab) to see how the WI-Box works.
