James Mangold's major biopic tells the story of the beginning of US singer-songwriter Bob Dylan's career in the 1960s and his transformation from folk to rock musician. The Bob Dylan film adaptation is already one of the most successful music biopics of all time.

Bob Dylan would probably prefer people to know as little as possible about him. Preferably not even that his real name is Robert Allen Zimmerman. After all, the music legend, who has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, likes to hide behind his big sunglasses and let his famous lyrics speak for themselves instead. Bob Dylan has long resisted films about him. Director Todd Hayned only received permission in the mid-2000s because his experimental approach envisaged the singer being portrayed by half a dozen different actors and actresses.
half a dozen different actors and actresses (including Heath Ledger, Richard Gere and Cate Blanchett), none of whom are called Bob Dylan in the film. Nevertheless, "I'm Not There" came incredibly close to the mystery of Dylan and his many personas in the end - and is therefore one of the best music biopics in history.

Maria on May 9

The biopic "Maria" is a deep tribute to the great soprano Maria Callas. Director Pablo Larraín is considered a specialist for unusual biopics. His portrait of the opera diva Maria Callas is set in the last week before her death. The leading role of the divine diva is played by a diva of our time: Angelina Jolie. "Maria" is the conclusion of Larraín's trilogy about women in world history, which began with "Jackie: The First Lady" about the president's wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Kennedy and continued with "Spencer" about Princess Diana. Awarded a nomination in the Best Actress - Drama category (Angelina Jolie) at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.
