The Platte hunting lodge

Duke Wilhelm von Nassau commissioned the construction of the Platte hunting lodge, which was built by Friedrich Ludwig Schrumpf between 1823 and 1826. After the death of Duke Wilhelm in 1839, the castle became the property of his son, the last Nassau Duke Adolf. He held court at Platte Hunting Lodge for the last time in 1865. Despite the annexation of Nassau by Prussia in 1866, the hunting lodge remained in the Duke's possession.

In 1913, the duke's heirs sold the building to the city of Wiesbaden, which used it for various events. Shortly before the end of the war, the castle was destroyed and fell into disrepair in the years that followed. It was not until 1987 that today's "Stiftung Jagdschloss Platte e.V." foundation redesigned the building. Today it is a venue for conferences, trade fairs and congresses.
