With Bürgersolaranlagen Wiesbaden GmbH, the city of Wiesbaden offers its citizens a simple and secure opportunity to participate financially in renewable energy plants in their region. The company's task is to initiate and implement participation projects for renewable energies.

In 2010, it launched a community solar plant project. More than 100 citizens are now involved in the investment company MSW Mein Solar Wiesbaden GmbH & Co. Bürgersolaranlagen Wiesbaden GmbH acts as the personally liable partner and managing director. Since 2010, MSW Mein Solar Wiesbaden has installed nine rooftop solar power systems with a total output of around 700 kilowatt peak. The systems produce around 655,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year and generate an annual CO2 reduction of around 455 tons.
