Office for Social Work

Wiesbaden Education Office

It is the joint task of local government and politics, state authorities, foundations, educational organizations and many players in civil society to actively shape local educational structures. The local authority has the task of coordinating the actions of the various stakeholders and aligning them with common guidelines.

The Education Office sees itself in the role of initiator, coordinator and ally within Wiesbaden's educational landscape. The Education Office is responsible for establishing data-based municipal education management, always with the aim of positively influencing the educational participation of all citizens in Wiesbaden. In doing so, it is committed to promoting a future-oriented common understanding of education in line with Wiesbaden's educational mission statement.

The tasks of the Education Office:

  • Strengthen and further develop the educational landscape on the basis of the educational mission statement.
  • Operate data-based, municipal education management. To this end, we are further developing the education reporting system, including education monitoring.
  • Optimize and expand learning and support opportunities for Wiesbaden residents along the educational biography; formal and non-formal learning settings are particularly suitable for this, as is informal learning.
  • Idea generator and initiator for educational projects at schools and in an extracurricular context (children and young people in their free time as well as adult education)
