Office for Social Work

District social work

The district social work services are aimed at families, children and young people and their environment. They include personal and educational help, information about social services, advice and support with family problems and child protection tasks.

District social work, sometimes also referred to as "general social services", is a service that covers all target groups and problems. It works on a district basis in eight regional working groups.

District social work requires close cooperation with schools, day care centers and other institutions. If necessary, it also creates support networks in the neighborhood and residential environment.

The services of district social work are offered close to where people live; responsibility is based on the residential address.
